Herminio Rodrigues is a renowned Portuguese photographer who has been capturing the beauty of his homeland for over four decades. Born in Lisbon in 1952, Herminio developed an early passion for photography and began taking pictures of his family and friends at a young age.
In the 1970s, Herminio attended the University of Lisbon where he studied photography and art history. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer, traveling around Portugal to capture its stunning landscapes and unique culture. His work quickly gained recognition and he was soon commissioned to take photographs for magazines, newspapers, and books.
Throughout his career, Herminio has won numerous awards for his work including the prestigious Prémio Nacional de Fotografia in 1989. He has also exhibited his photographs in galleries around the world including London’s National Portrait Gallery and New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
Herminio’s photographs are known for their vivid colors and unique perspectives which capture the beauty of Portugal’s diverse landscapes. He continues to work as a freelance photographer today, capturing the beauty of Portugal through his lens.
