Hedi Slimane is a French photographer, fashion designer, and visual artist. Born in 1968 in Paris, France, he studied art history at the École du Louvre before beginning his career as a fashion designer.

Slimane began his career in fashion in the late 1990s when he was hired by Yves Saint Laurent to design menswear. He quickly gained recognition for his modern and minimalist designs, which helped to redefine menswear at the time. In 2000, he was appointed creative director of Dior Homme and continued to revolutionize menswear with his signature slim-cut suits and skinny jeans.

In 2007, Slimane left Dior Homme to pursue photography full-time. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world and has been published in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and W Magazine. He has also collaborated with brands such as Celine, Saint Laurent Paris, and Fendi on campaigns and lookbooks.

In addition to photography, Slimane is also an accomplished visual artist whose work has been exhibited at galleries such as Gagosian Gallery in London and Galerie Perrotin in Paris. His work often explores themes of identity and youth culture through a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, video art, and installation art.
