Gosha Rubchinskiy is a Russian photographer, fashion designer, and filmmaker. He was born in Moscow in 1984 and grew up in the city's suburbs. He began his career as a photographer in 2006, shooting street style images of young people in Moscow and St. Petersburg. His work quickly gained attention for its raw, candid style and its focus on youth culture in Russia.
In 2012, Rubchinskiy launched his eponymous fashion label, which has become known for its modern take on traditional Russian sportswear. His collections often feature collaborations with other Russian designers and brands, as well as international names like Adidas and Burberry.
In addition to his fashion work, Rubchinskiy has also directed several short films that explore youth culture in Russia. His first feature-length film, "The Gopniks," was released in 2019 to critical acclaim.
Rubchinskiy's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) in London. He has also been featured on the cover of magazines such as Vogue Russia and i-D Magazine.
