Gia Coppola is an American filmmaker, photographer, and actress. She is the granddaughter of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and the niece of actors Nicolas Cage and Sofia Coppola.

Gia was born in Los Angeles, California in 1987. She attended Bard College in New York before returning to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking. She made her directorial debut with the 2013 film Palo Alto, which was based on a collection of short stories by James Franco. The film received critical acclaim and earned Gia several awards including Best First Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival.

In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Gia is also an accomplished photographer. Her photography has been featured in publications such as Vogue, W Magazine, and Vanity Fair. She has also collaborated with brands such as Gucci and Coach on campaigns featuring her photography.

Gia has also acted in several films including The Bling Ring (2013) and Mainstream (2020). In 2020 she released her second feature film Mainstream starring Andrew Garfield and Maya Hawke. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision.

Gia continues to work as a filmmaker, photographer, and actress while also exploring other creative outlets such as music production and fashion design.
