Geoff Ragatz is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He has been shooting professionally for over 20 years, and his work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
Ragatz was born in San Francisco, California and grew up in the Bay Area. He attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where he studied photography and film. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in photography.
Ragatz’s work focuses on capturing the beauty of nature and the human experience. His photographs have been featured in numerous books, magazines, and exhibitions around the world. He has also directed several short films that have been screened at festivals such as Sundance and SXSW.
In addition to his photography work, Ragatz is also an avid traveler who has visited over 50 countries around the world. He is passionate about exploring new cultures and capturing unique moments through his lens. His travels have taken him to some of the most remote places on earth including Antarctica, Africa, India, and South America.
Ragatz’s work has earned him numerous awards including a World Press Photo Award for his series “The Human Condition” which documented life in rural India. He was also named one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers for 2017 for his series “The American West” which explored the changing landscape of the western United States.
Geoff Ragatz continues to push boundaries with his photography by exploring new places and telling stories through his lens that capture both beauty and emotion.
