Hoppe was born in Tokyo in 1975, and began her career as a photographer in the late 1990s. She studied photography at the Tokyo College of Photography, where she developed her signature style of capturing everyday moments with an eye for detail. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, the International Center of Photography in New York, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

Hoppe's work often focuses on themes such as identity, memory, and nostalgia.
