Franco Pagetti is an Italian photojournalist and documentary photographer. He has been working in the field of photojournalism since the early 1980s, covering some of the most important events of our time.

Born in Milan, Italy, in 1957, Pagetti began his career as a photographer at the age of 18. After studying photography at the Istituto Superiore di Fotografia in Rome, he began working as a freelance photographer for various Italian newspapers and magazines. In 1983, he moved to Paris to work for Gamma Press Agency and then to New York City to work for Sygma Photo News.

Throughout his career, Pagetti has covered some of the most significant events of our time including wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, famine in Ethiopia and Sudan, civil unrest in Haiti and Rwanda, and natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina. His work has been featured in publications such as Time Magazine, Newsweek Magazine, The New York Times Magazine and National Geographic Magazine. He has also won numerous awards including World Press Photo Awards (2005), Pictures of the Year International Awards (2006) and Visa d’Or Award (2007).

In addition to his photojournalism work, Pagetti is also an accomplished documentary filmmaker. His films have been shown at festivals around the world including Cannes Film Festival (2008) and Sundance Film Festival (2009). He currently lives in Rome with his wife and two children.
