Fernando Forero is a Colombian photographer and visual artist based in Bogotá. He is best known for his work in documentary photography, which often focuses on social issues and the human condition.
Forero was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1975. He studied photography at the National University of Colombia, where he graduated with a degree in Visual Arts. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and organizations.
In 2006, Forero was awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship for his work documenting the lives of people living in poverty in Colombia. His photographs have been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Tate Modern in London.
Forero's work has been widely praised for its ability to capture intimate moments and tell powerful stories about life in Colombia. He has also received numerous awards for his work, including the World Press Photo Award and the Hasselblad Masters Award.
Forero continues to live and work in Bogotá, where he is currently working on a new project exploring identity and belonging among Colombian immigrants living abroad.
