Ferdinando Scianna is an Italian photographer and filmmaker who has been capturing the beauty of his homeland for over five decades. Born in Bagheria, Sicily in 1943, Scianna was exposed to photography from a young age, as his father was a professional photographer. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, he began working as a freelance photographer for magazines such as L'Espresso and Vogue Italia.
