Elle Muliarchyk is a Ukrainian-born photographer and visual artist based in New York City. She is best known for her vibrant, surrealistic images that explore themes of identity, femininity, and the human condition.
Muliarchyk was born in Ukraine in 1988 and moved to the United States at the age of nine. She studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she graduated with a BFA in 2011. After graduating, she began working as a freelance photographer and has since had her work featured in publications such as Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, and W Magazine.
Muliarchyk’s work often features dreamlike scenes that explore themes of identity and femininity. Her photographs are often characterized by their vibrant colors and surrealistic elements. She has also been known to incorporate elements of fashion into her work, creating unique images that blur the lines between art and fashion photography.
In addition to her photography work, Muliarchyk has also created several short films that have been featured at film festivals around the world. Her films often explore similar themes as her photographs, but with a more narrative approach.
Muliarchyk’s work has been exhibited internationally at galleries such as The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and The Photographers’ Gallery in London. In 2017 she was named one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch by Photo District News magazine.
