Duncan Cheng is a renowned photographer and visual artist based in Hong Kong. He has been capturing the beauty of the city and its people for over a decade.
Born in Hong Kong, Duncan was exposed to photography from an early age. His father was a professional photographer, and Duncan often accompanied him on shoots. This early exposure to the art form sparked his interest in photography, and he began taking pictures of his own at the age of 12.
Duncan studied photography at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he developed his skills and honed his eye for composition. After graduating, he worked as a freelance photographer for various publications and brands before launching his own studio in 2008.
Since then, Duncan has become one of the most sought-after photographers in Hong Kong. His work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue China, Harper’s Bazaar China, Elle China, Marie Claire China, Esquire China, GQ China and many more. He has also shot campaigns for major brands such as Nike, Adidas and Puma.
In addition to commercial work, Duncan is also passionate about fine art photography. He has exhibited his work at galleries around the world including London’s Saatchi Gallery and New York’s International Center of Photography. His photographs have been acquired by private collectors as well as institutions such as The British Museum and The Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
