Denise Grünstein is a Swedish photographer and visual artist whose work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. She is best known for her black-and-white photographs of everyday life, which often feature people in their natural environment.

Grünstein was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1952. She studied photography at the University of Gothenburg and later at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. After graduating, she began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.

In the 1980s, Grünstein began to focus on her own personal projects, which often featured people from her native Sweden. Her work has been exhibited at galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Grünstein's photographs have also been featured in numerous books, including "Denise Grünstein: Photographs" (2003) and "The World Through My Eyes" (2006). In addition to her photography career, she has also written several books about photography and art.

Grünstein currently lives and works in Stockholm. Her work continues to explore themes of everyday life with an emphasis on capturing moments that are both intimate and universal.
