Dario Catellani is an Italian photographer and visual artist who has been creating stunning images for over two decades. Born in Milan in 1971, he began his career as a fashion photographer, shooting for magazines such as Vogue Italia and Harper’s Bazaar. His work has since expanded to include fine art photography, portraiture, and documentary photography.
Catellani’s work is characterized by its strong sense of composition and use of light. He often uses natural light to create a dreamlike atmosphere in his photographs, which often feature people in surreal settings or landscapes. His work has been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
In addition to his photography, Catellani is also an accomplished filmmaker. He has directed several short films that have been screened at film festivals around the world. He also teaches workshops on photography and filmmaking at universities throughout Europe.
Catellani’s work has earned him numerous awards, including the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Applied/Fashion/Advertising Photography (2006) and the Hasselblad Masters Award (2009). He currently lives and works in Milan.
