Daniel Lundkvist is a Swedish photographer and visual artist based in Stockholm. He is best known for his work in fashion, portraiture, and documentary photography.
Lundkvist began his career as a freelance photographer in the early 2000s, shooting for various magazines and newspapers. His work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Elle, GQ, and The New York Times Magazine. He has also shot campaigns for brands such as H&M, Adidas, and Nike.
In addition to his commercial work, Lundkvist has also produced several personal projects that explore themes of identity and belonging. His series “The Other Side” (2009) documented the lives of immigrants living in Sweden. His project “The Unseen” (2012) focused on the lives of people living with disabilities.
Lundkvist’s work has been exhibited internationally at galleries and museums including the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm and the Hasselblad Center in Gothenburg. He has also received numerous awards including the Hasselblad Foundation Grant (2010) and the Swedish Arts Grants Committee International Artist Grant (2013).
In addition to his photography practice, Lundkvist is also an educator who teaches workshops on photography at universities around Europe. He is currently working on a new project exploring themes of migration and displacement.
