Daniel Archer is a British photographer and visual artist based in London. He is best known for his work in fashion, portraiture, and documentary photography.
Archer was born in London in 1982 and grew up in the city's East End. He developed an interest in photography at an early age, taking pictures of his friends and family with a camera he received as a gift from his parents. After completing his studies at the University of Westminster, he began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and brands.
In 2010, Archer was awarded the prestigious Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize for his portrait of a young girl from East London. This image was later acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in London and has since become one of Archer's most iconic works.
Since then, Archer has gone on to work with some of the world's leading fashion brands including Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Dior. His work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, and The New York Times Magazine. He has also exhibited his work internationally at galleries such as The Photographers' Gallery in London and The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
Archer continues to push boundaries with his photography by exploring themes such as identity, gender roles, youth culture, and social issues through his images. His work is often described as being both visually striking and emotionally powerful.
