Corinne Day (1962-2010) was a British fashion photographer who is best known for her iconic images of the 1990s "heroin chic" movement. She began her career in the late 1980s, shooting for magazines such as The Face and i-D. Her work was characterized by its raw, naturalistic style and its focus on youth culture.
Day's most famous work was her series of photographs of model Kate Moss, which were featured in the July 1990 issue of The Face magazine. These images helped to define the "heroin chic" aesthetic that dominated fashion photography in the early 1990s. Day's photographs of Moss were also featured in Calvin Klein's 1993 ad campaign, which further popularized the look.
In addition to her fashion photography, Day also worked as a documentary photographer and filmmaker. She documented the lives of young people living on London's council estates and produced a series of short films about them. She also wrote and directed two feature films: The Dark Room (1998) and The Summer House (2003).
Day passed away in 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Her legacy lives on through her iconic photographs, which continue to inspire photographers around the world.
