Cass Bird is an American photographer and director based in New York City. She is best known for her fashion and portrait photography, which often features strong female subjects.

Bird was born in San Francisco, California in 1979. She studied photography at the San Francisco Art Institute before moving to New York City in 2001. After working as an assistant to photographers such as Richard Avedon and Steven Meisel, she began shooting for magazines such as Vogue, W Magazine, and Harper's Bazaar.

In addition to her editorial work, Bird has directed music videos for artists such as Rihanna and Sia, as well as commercials for brands like Nike and Apple. She has also collaborated with fashion designers such as Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang on campaigns and lookbooks.

Bird's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. In 2017, she was named one of TIME Magazine's "100 Most Influential People."
