Casper Kofi is a Ghanaian-born photographer who has been capturing stunning images of his homeland since the early 2000s. He is known for his vibrant and colorful photographs that capture the beauty of Ghana's diverse landscapes, cultures, and people.
Kofi was born in Accra, Ghana in 1982. He developed an interest in photography at a young age and began taking pictures with his father's camera when he was just 12 years old. After graduating from high school, Kofi attended the University of Ghana where he studied photography and graphic design.
In 2004, Kofi moved to the United States to pursue a career in photography. He quickly established himself as one of the most sought-after photographers in the country, shooting for magazines such as Vogue, GQ, and Elle. His work has also been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington D.C., The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and The British Museum in London.
Kofi's work has earned him numerous awards including being named one of TIME Magazine's "30 Most Influential Photographers" in 2017 and winning first place at the International Photography Awards for his series "The Beauty of Ghana". In addition to his commercial work, Kofi is also passionate about using his art to raise awareness about social issues such as poverty and inequality. He regularly donates prints to charities that support these causes.
Kofi currently lives between Accra and New York City where he continues to capture stunning images that showcase both the beauty and complexity of life in Ghana.
