Byungmoon Hwang is a South Korean photographer and visual artist. He is best known for his work in the fields of documentary photography, portraiture, and street photography.

Hwang was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1975. He studied photography at the Seoul Institute of the Arts and graduated with a degree in Visual Communication Design. After graduating, he worked as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.

In 2003, Hwang began to focus on documentary photography and portraiture. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. His photographs have also been published in several books, including “The Korean Eye” (2005) and “Korean Portraits” (2008).

Hwang’s work often focuses on themes such as identity, culture, history, and memory. He has traveled extensively throughout Asia to capture images that reflect his unique perspective on life. His photographs are characterized by their vivid colors and strong composition.

Hwang currently lives and works in Seoul where he continues to explore new ways to express himself through his art. He is an active member of the Korean Photographers Association and has received numerous awards for his work over the years.
