Bryan Adams is a Canadian photographer, singer-songwriter, and philanthropist. He has achieved worldwide fame for his iconic photographs and music.
Born in Kingston, Ontario in 1959, Adams was raised by his parents, Conrad and Elizabeth Adams. He developed an interest in photography at a young age and began taking pictures of his friends and family. After graduating from high school, he attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California.
Adams' career as a photographer began to take off in the early 1980s when he was hired to shoot album covers for some of the biggest names in music including Bryan Ferry, Tina Turner, and The Rolling Stones. His work has been featured on over 500 album covers throughout his career. In addition to album covers, Adams has also shot advertising campaigns for major brands such as Coca-Cola and Levi's.
In addition to his photography career, Adams is also an accomplished singer-songwriter. He released his debut album "Bryan Adams" in 1980 which spawned several hit singles including "Cuts Like a Knife" and "Summer of '69". His follow up albums "Reckless" (1984) and "Waking Up the Neighbours" (1991) were both certified multi-platinum by the RIAA. To date he has sold over 65 million records worldwide making him one of the best selling artists of all time.
Adams is also an active philanthropist who has supported numerous charities throughout his career including Greenpeace, Amnesty International, War Child Canada, and The Bryan Adams Foundation which provides educational opportunities for underprivileged children around the world.
Throughout his career Bryan Adams has achieved international fame for both his photography and music making him one of the most successful artists of all time.
