Brandon Maxwell is an American fashion photographer, director, and creative director. Born in Austin, Texas in 1984, he grew up with a passion for photography and fashion. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in advertising and public relations, he moved to New York City to pursue his dreams of becoming a fashion photographer.
In 2009, Brandon began working as an assistant to renowned fashion photographer Bruce Weber. During this time, he developed his own unique style of photography that focused on capturing the beauty of everyday people. His work quickly gained recognition from the fashion industry and he was soon shooting for major publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle.
In 2015, Brandon was named Creative Director of the iconic American brand Oscar de la Renta. During his tenure at the company, he created campaigns that were praised for their modern take on classic elegance. He also directed several short films for the brand which showcased his unique vision and storytelling ability.
In 2017, Brandon launched his eponymous label which focuses on creating timeless pieces that are designed to empower women of all sizes and backgrounds. His designs have been worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama and have been featured in numerous publications including Vogue and Elle Magazine.
Today, Brandon continues to push boundaries with his photography while also creating beautiful clothing designs that celebrate diversity and self-expression. He is an inspiration to aspiring photographers everywhere who strive to make their mark on the world through their artistry.
