Begum Yetis is a Turkish-born photographer and visual artist based in Istanbul. She has been creating art since she was a child, and her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world.

Begum Yetis was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1985. She studied photography at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, graduating with a degree in photography and video art. After graduating, she began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.

In 2010, Begum Yetis had her first solo exhibition at the Istanbul Modern Art Museum. Since then, her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including the Tate Modern in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. Her work has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Vogue Italia, and Harper’s Bazaar Turkey.

In addition to her photography career, Begum Yetis is also an active member of the Istanbul art scene. She is a founding member of the Istanbul Photography Collective and regularly participates in workshops and lectures on photography and visual arts. She is also an active supporter of local charities that promote education for children living in poverty.

Begum Yetis’s work focuses on themes such as identity, gender roles, and social issues within Turkish society. Her photographs often feature strong female characters who challenge traditional gender roles while exploring their own identities within modern society. Through her work she hopes to inspire others to think critically about their own lives and to create positive change within their communities.
