Arkan Zakharov is a Russian photographer and visual artist based in Moscow. He is best known for his unique and creative approach to photography, which often combines elements of surrealism, abstraction, and symbolism.
Born in Moscow in 1985, Zakharov developed an interest in photography at an early age. He began experimenting with different techniques and styles while still in school, eventually leading him to pursue a degree in photography from the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts. After graduating, he worked as a freelance photographer for several years before establishing his own studio in 2011.
Since then, Zakharov has become one of the most sought-after photographers in Russia. His work has been featured in numerous publications around the world, including Vogue Russia, GQ Russia, Harper’s Bazaar Russia, and Elle Russia. He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion such as Gucci, Dior, Prada, and Louis Vuitton.
In addition to his commercial work, Zakharov also creates personal projects that explore themes such as identity and memory. His work has been exhibited at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.
Zakharov’s unique style has earned him numerous awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Photographer of the Year (2015), International Color Awards (ICA) for Best Photographer of the Year (2016), and Hasselblad Masters Award (2017). He continues to push boundaries with his creative vision while inspiring others to do the same.
