Angelika Buettner is a German photographer and visual artist based in Berlin. She is known for her unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.
Born in Berlin in 1975, Angelika began her career as a photographer at the age of 18. She studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Germany, where she developed her own style of photography. After graduating, she moved to Berlin to pursue her career as a professional photographer.
Angelika’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue, GQ, Elle, and The New York Times Magazine. Her photographs have also been exhibited in galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
In addition to her photography work, Angelika is also an accomplished visual artist who creates installations and sculptures that explore themes such as identity, memory, and place. Her work has been featured at numerous international art festivals including Documenta 14 in Kassel, Germany and the Venice Biennale.
Angelika’s work has earned her numerous awards including the Leica Oskar Barnack Award for Photography (2015) and the Hasselblad Masters Award (2016). She continues to push boundaries with her unique vision of photography and art that captures both beauty and emotion.
