Wesolowska's work often features natural elements such as trees, flowers, and water combined with human figures to create a dreamlike atmosphere. She has said that her work is inspired by her own dreams and fantasies, as well as by literature and mythology. Her photographs are often imbued with a sense of mystery and wonder, inviting viewers to explore their own inner worlds.
In addition to her photography, Wesolowska also creates video art and installations. She has collaborated with other artists on projects such as an interactive installation at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. In 2020 she was awarded the prestigious Prix Pictet for her series “The Garden of Earthly Delights” which explored themes of nature, femininity, and transformation through digital collage techniques.
Alicja Wesolowska's work continues to challenge viewers to explore their own inner worlds through dreamlike imagery that blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
