Agnes Popieszynska is a Polish photographer and visual artist based in Warsaw. She is best known for her documentary-style photography, which often focuses on the everyday lives of people living in Poland.

Popieszynska was born in Warsaw in 1982 and grew up surrounded by art and culture. She studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduating with a degree in photography and multimedia. After graduating, she began working as a freelance photographer, shooting for various magazines and newspapers.

In 2010, Popieszynska released her first book of photographs titled “Poland: A Photographic Journey” which featured her work from across the country. The book was well-received and earned her critical acclaim from both critics and peers alike.

Since then, Popieszynska has gone on to exhibit her work at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the National Museum of Photography in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Her work has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, Vogue Italia, and National Geographic.

Popieszynska’s work is characterized by its intimate portrayal of everyday life in Poland. Her photographs capture moments that are often overlooked or forgotten but are nonetheless essential to understanding the country’s culture and history.
