Taylor Swift shines on the cover of ASOS magazine
Pop star Taylor Swift shows off her Fashion & modeling skills for the January 2015 cover shoot of ASOS Magazine.
The "1989" songstress strikes a fierce fashionable pose for the cover shot by Bb Tay & features an ASOS BLACK Crop Top with Gem Collar, ASOS BLACK Mini Skirt in Glitter and ASOS Double Faux Pearl Rings. For the close to perfect editorial titled "How to Be a Supergirl" the pop superstar is a fashion sage as she poses in metallic skirts, crop tops and boots styled by Zeba Lowe.
Besides dishing insight into her fashion mindset the 25 year old singer opens up to the magazine about keeping her friendships real and also discusses her "biggest mistakes". Having been heartbroken too many times she has been chosing female friendships over romantic relationships, and says she's dressing for her BFFs these days. "When I’m getting dressed, it’s always based on what my friends will think. They are my number one priority and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life. But depending on the city I’m in and depending on the time of day and what mood I’m in, my choices are ever changing."
"My friends are the kind of people that have their own lives, and their own busy schedules, and that’s why we get along so well." She continues, "A lot of ‘celebrities’ surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don’t really have much of a job or a passion, they follow around their celebrity BFF and provide constant affirmation for them and I’m really not interested in that kind of deal."
Swift reveals she listens to constructive criticism depending on who its coming from. "The first step to receiving negativity is to decide whether or not it is the opinion of somebody that you care about," she shares. "If it's somebody that I respect, then I really do take it into account because 'haters gonna hate' only applies to people who are simply criticizing you because their life sucks.”
Despite being thoroughly mainstream and a Fashion sage, Swift says she does try to avoid trends. "I think that as much as you should be creative and experiment, there are certain things I know are fads and so I try to steer clear of most of the obvious ones. I play the tape of my life forward and don’t wear the things that my kids or grandkids will make fun of me for wearing – [adopts sarcastic voice] 'Wow, cool, mom, cool cowboy boots that you were wearing constantly in 2006!'"
