Newsmaker Of The Week : Kaia Gerber

Our Newsmaker this week is Kaia Gerber.

The daughter of modeling legend Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, she has already been making a splash in the modeling world. Just three years younger than her mother was when she was first discovered, the 13 year old who old has inherited her supermodel mother's good looks is following in her footsteps. Just last week she landed her first modeling contract with IMG Models, the world's number one international model management company.

The brunette beauty also made her editorial debut in Vogue Italia's July 2015 issue, photographed by Steven Meisel sporting a fuzzy leopard jacket looking very much like her mom in the black and white shot.

Genes aside, Kaia is no stranger to modeling. When she was 10, she made an appearance in a Young Versace campaign and a J.C. Penney ad with her mom. Following that she landed her first magazine shoot when she graced the pages of December/January 2015 issue of Teen Vogue. Like her mother, she is comfortable in front of the camera and has a 100,000 Instagram followers. Earlier this year Kaia channeled Miranda Kerr flawlessly in a photo, sporting a white and black collared top and pearl necklaces with her hair pushed to one side.

Gerber was recently named in the latest issue of Town and Country magazine honoring today's top "it girls" in their second annual Modern Swans issue which included Lily Rose-Depp, Bella and Gigi Hadid and Sistine Stallone among others.Kaia has even begun auditioning for roles in Hollywood. "I like to explore beyond who I am so I can feel for other people. When you become someone else, you better understand others." she told Teen Vogue on her love for acting and trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood.

Her striking resemblance to her mother has led her to receive praise from Donatella Versace. "Like her mother," Versace said of her 2012 modeling campaign, "Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her."

Easygoing and expressive, with her thick eyebrows and wavy side part Kaia is a natural with a great ability to strike a pose and is destined to make her own stamp on the world of fashion.
