Angelina Jolie is the face of a new fragrance from the house of Guerlain.
The luxury French beauty brand made the announcement Monday on Instagram in a post saying 'Guerlain Parfumeur, the French beauty brand since 1828, is honored to announce that Angelina Jolie is the icon of its new fragrance for women. #MonGuerlain'
Thierry Wasser, Guerlain's Master Perfumer, drew his inspiration from Jolie to create a fragrance expressing the idea of the 'notes of a woman': the choices, emotions and dreams that embody modern femininity. 'We create perfumes for the women we admire' said Jacques Guerlain in a press statement.
The collaboration between Jolie and the label came about in December 2015, when the Hollywood star was in Cambodia directing the film 'First They Killed My Father'. For the 41-year-old actress, director and humanitarian, her decision to work with the 188-year-old company is associated with a very special childhood memory. Apparently, her deceased mother Marcheline Bertrand was a big fan of the company's face powder. Jolie has donated the entire proceeds to charity.
The new campaign for Guerlain marks Jolie's return into the beauty world. She previously served as the face of Shiseido in 2007 and also starred in fashion campaigns for Louis Vuitton and St. John. While details of the fragrance is under wraps, it is set to launch in March this year.
