Zara Woman has teamed up with Water.org for a sustainable capsule collection.
Titled "Care For Water" the collection consists of garments made of organic cotton which was grown using natural fertilizers and pesticides. With clean lines, earthy tones and valance sleeves - the pieces of the Capsule Collection represent clarity. The campaign images were shot in a freshwater lagoon and feature polish model Malgosia Bela.
According to the company, the garments are produced taking care of water management, with materials and technologies that help reduce water consumption and preserve freshwater resources. This special type of production works in Zero Liquid Discharge factories where water is recovered and recycled, reducing water consumed during manufacturing to the minimum.
The collection is in keeping with Zara's announcement in mid-July 2019, that by 2025 it would sell only cotton, linen and polyester clothing that was organic, sustainably produced or made from recyclable materials.
Zara and its eight sub-labels have been working with Water.org since 2015 to extend the power of microlending to organic cotton farmers taking part in the Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA) programme in Madhya Pradesh (India) enabling them to meet their household water and sanitation needs.
Founded by Matt Damon and Gary White in 2009 Water.org is a global nonprofit organization that helps people get access to safe water and sanitation through affordable financing, such as small loans.
The "Care For Water" collection by Zara Woman is now available online and in selected stores.
