Vans launches shoe collection inspired by Frida Kahlo

American manufacturer of skateboarding shoes and related apparel Vans has released a collection inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

Titled 'Vans X Frida Kahlo' the limited edition capsule will consist of three different models, each with a different artwork of the famed surrealist painter: The Two Fridays (1939), Viva la Vida (1954) and Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird (1940). The trio of famous masterpieces paintings appears on the OG Ski8-Hi LX, the Authentic LX and the Slip-On LX.

This is not the first time that Vans has released art collaborations. In 2018, the skate brand released a collection in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam featuring Van Gogh's Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers and self-portraits. It also entered into collaborations with Taka Hayashi, Disney, and GORE-TEX, among others.

Priced between $80-$95, the 'Vans X Frida Kahlo' collection is available now through select Vault by Vans retailers.
