Japanese global apparel retailer Uniqlo has opened its first store in the Netherlands.
Located in the former Forever 21 flagship store in the heart of the city center, on Kalverstraat 11, Amsterdam. There will be an entrance on Rokin 12 as well. It will feature a total sales floor of approximately 2,040 square meters across three levels.
'The people of Amsterdam enjoy wearing functional, but well-designed, high-quality clothes. At UNIQLO we share the same values, and it is exactly these qualities that we have incorporated in our LifeWear,' said Taku Morikawa, Chief Executive Officer of UNIQLO Europe in a press release. 'We are confident that there is a great fit between our brand and Dutch customers, and with UNIQLO Kalverstraat opening on 28 September, we look forward to starting a long and successful relationship with communities in the Netherlands,' he added.
The new store in Amsterdam will be the biggest UNIQLO store in the Benelux region and one of the company's largest in Europe. It will showcase the Fall/Winter 2018 LifeWear collection for men, women and kids. The range includes the popular Ultra Light Down, sweaters made from natural fabrics such as Extra Fine merino, cashmere and lambswool.
