Olivier Rousteing and Cara Delevingne have collaborated with German sportswear label Puma for an exclusive capsule collection.
The 25 piece unisex collection consists of limited-edition pieces of footwear, clothing, and accessories inspired by traditional boxing attire, Cara's own personality and style as well as diversity and inclusivity. From Red and blue boxing shorts, long socks with lurex details, and satin bomber jackets, to tracksuits, mini dresses, hi-top sneakers, hoodies and T-shirts, the pieces marry sportswear and fashion with many of them in Balmain's signature black and gold color palette. The collection is divided into parts, the first of which will be revealed in November while six more pieces will be released in Spring 2020.
'It's really born out of friendship. She asked me to work with her on this collection with Puma. We had a very clear point of view because we both love boxing. We also wanted to use this collaboration as a platform to promote diversity and inclusivity,' Rousteing told WWD.
The Balmain x Puma collab marks the first time that the French fashion house has collaborated with a sportswear company. It also is the first time that Cara Delevingne (who also stars as the face of the campaign) has designed a collection for Puma.
The Balmain x Puma collection will launch on November 21 on the e-shops and respective Puma and Balmain stores.
