LVMH and Kering launch platform against misuse of models

After publishing a Charter on working relations with fashion models and their well-being in September 2017, luxury conglomerates LVMH and Kering have entered into a partnership with the launch of the new online platform WeCareForModels.com.

The website provides fashion models who work in their houses with information and advice from professionals concerning well-being, as well as first-person comments. It features personal stories of prominent figures from the fashion world such as Christian Dior Couture's artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri, Gucci's chief executive Marco Bizzarri, designer Stella McCartney and the editor-in-chief of the French Elle, Erin Doherty.

The site states that its objective is for the men and women who work with them (LVMH and Kering) to adopt this process and play an active role to drive changes to their profession. It is designed for all those interested in the working conditions and well-being of models, both people who work in fashion and the general public and also contains advice from independent nutritionists and coaches.

The WeCareForModels.com initiative comes a day after the American newspaper The Boston Globe published a long list of allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior by photographers, stylists and model agents, including Patrick Demarchelier and Karl Templer.
