Following on the release of her KKW Beauty Body Collection, Kim Kardashian has launched a shapewear collection.
The 38-year-old reality star and beauty mogul who is a big fan of shapewear announced the release of the line titled 'Kimono by Kim Kardashian West'.
'Finally, I can share with you guys this project that I have been developing for the last year. I've been passionate about this for 15 years. Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work,' she wrote in an Instagram post.
The new line is the accumulation of Kim's personal experiences with shapewear and is full of her passion to provide high-quality working solutions for everybody. Every piece in the collection is specially designed to make every figure stand out better. The Kimono Solutionwear line consists of bras, shorts, and suits, as well as a one-legged short for 'wearing dresses with a split and need support'. In addition, each piece within the line is available in nine skin shades, from light beige to dark tones, and in sizes from XXS to 4XL.
Although the name of the line partly consists of her first name it has sparked a massive backlash and stir in Japan as Kimonos are Japanese robes traditionally worn at formal affairs. Less than 24 hours after Kim's announcement several took to social media with the hashtag, #KimOhNo accusing her of cultural appropriation.
As to when the Kimono by Kim Kardashian West collection will be launched exactly remains unknown, however, one can sign up for more information on the brands' website.
