Jeremy Scott has stepped down as Creative Director of Italian luxury fashion house Moschino after nearly 10 years at its helm.
The announcement was made this morning by the American Designer in an Instagram post.
'After 10 years I am announcing today that I will be leaving Moschino. I've had a blast creating designs that will live on forever. I am grateful for all the love and support I've received over this past decade as I close this chapter I am filled with excitement & anticipation and cant wait to share with you all what I have in store for you next!,' Scott shared in a statement on Instagram.
The news was later confirmed by Moschino in a statement posted on the house's official Instagram account in the form of an IG Story.
'I am fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with the creative force that is Jeremy Scott. I would like to thank him for his ten years of commitment to Franco Moschino's legacy House and for ushering in a distinct and joyful vision that will forever be a part of Moschino history,' Massimo Ferretti, executive chairman of Moschino's parent company Aeffe said.
Scott was named creative director of the Moschino in October 2013 and succeeded it's longtime creative director Rossella Jardini, who led the brand after founder Franco Moschino's death. His first collection for the brand was unveiled during the Autumn/Winter 2014 season and was so groundbreaking that it launched a thousand debates on the role of fashion in the annals of art, consumerism, and social commentary.
True to the renowned codes of the House, Scot penned a fundamental chapter in the legacy of the brand with his fearless and show stopping pop-camp style and incisive humor. Known for his playful, tongue-in-cheek inspired collections, he brought the brand to the attention of a number of international artists and celebrities such as Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Bebe Rexha, Gigi Hadid, Lil Nas X, and Taylor Swift.
Scott's successor is yet to be announced by Moschino.
