House of Karl Lagerfeld and Kenneth Ize unveil Gender-Neutral Capsule

Karl Lagerfelds eponymous label and Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize have teamed up for an exclusive spring/summer 2021 collection.

Titled Karl Lagerfeld x Kenneth Ize, the gender-neutral capsule encompasses the best of both brands and features genderless tailoring, colorful handbags, and an assortment of beaded jewelry. A 2019 finalist for the LVMH Prize, Ize was tapped by stylist and former editor-in-chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld.

In the course of designing the collection, Ize worked with Karl Lagerfeld's design director Hun Kim and was inspired African imagery in the pre-colonial and post-colonial times. Comprising of genderless ready-to-wear made from fabrics sourced from Nigeria, colorful handbags, beaded jewelry and platform sandals the collection is a fusion of Nigerian and European style, and pays homage to Ize's West African roots as well as Karl Lagerfeld.
