Felipe Oliveira Baptista to step down from Kenzo

Felipe Oliveira Baptista is parting ways with Kenzo after almost two years. The Portuguese fashion designer will step down from his position as creative director at the LVMH-owned brand on June 30, 2021.

Following Carol Lim and Humberto Leon's departure, Oliveira Baptista took over and presented his first Kenzo collection during Paris Fashion Week for autumn/winter 2020 which was inspired by the brand's archives and founder Kenzo Takada's vision.

'I have been honored to serve this amazing house and the legacy of its founder Kenzo Takada. I would like to thank my teams for their talent and dedication,' Oliveira Baptista said in a statement.

'We are very grateful to Felipe for his talent, creativity and contribution to the artistic development of our House,' Sylvie Colin, chief executive of Kenzo, said in a statement.

Known for his constant evolving style, prior to his stint at Kenzo, Baptista was creative director of Lacoste between 2010 and 2018. He also founded his eponymous brand alongside his partner Severine Oliveira Baptista in 2003.

LVMH has not yet announced the name of his successor.
