Chanel partners with the Deauville American Film Festival

Chanel has partnered with the Deauville American Film Festival for its 45th edition this year.

Considered as one of the biggest European film festivals devoted to American cinema, this years' event will have Catherine Deneuve heading up the main jury, while Chanel ambassador Anna Mouglalis will lead the jury for the Prix de la Revelation, which recognizes up-and-coming talents.

The partnership between the Parisian house and the festival was thus no surprise, as Chanel has always dressed many women from Sofia Coppola to Lily-Rose Depp for the red carpet. This is not the first time that Chanel has worked with the Film Industry. It has been sponsoring the Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Programme and hosts an annual pre-Oscars party. In 2017, the French Fashion house took over from Chaumet as the official partner of the Cesars, commonly known as 'the French Oscars'. Further, it has worked with several Hollywood actresses, including Kristen Stewart, Margot Robbie, and Penelope Cruz as its Ambassadors.

Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has been both showcasing the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and continuously revealing new talent. Organized every year by the Public System Cinema and the International Center of Deauville, it presents over 60 films to audiences in three different locations: the International Center of Deauville, the Deauville Lucien Barriere Casino, and the Deauville Le Morny Cinema. The Festival is an event open to everyone, professionals and cinema enthusiasts alike.

The 2019 Deauville American Film Festival will take place from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th September 2019.
