Chanel will launch a new limited-edition of its iconic Chanel No 5 perfume in ruby red.
The clean rectangular perfume bottle in transparent glass with faceted stopper and minimalist branding differs in both perfume and look. The floral aldehyde perfume makes it a fragrance for life and a kind of talisman. Red is an important color for Chanel and reflects Gabrielle Chanel's passionate soul.
This is the first time in the history of the legendary French fashion house that its iconic packaging has been altered. The radical design was first conceived in 1921 and modified in 1924.
Arriving right in time for Christmas, the Chanel No 5 limited-edition red bottle will be available either in glass (for 100ml Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum) or baccarat crystal (for the luxurious 900ml Perfume) - of which only 55 have been produced. Collectors and perfume fans can register now for the pre-launch on chanel.com with the fragrance becoming available in stores from November 2.
