Byronesque has re-issued a womenswear capsule collection that pays homage to French designer Claude Montana.
The e-commerce site for vintage fashion teamed up with online luxury retailer Farfetch to release the collection that dates from 1979 to 1994. The 11-piece limited edition capsule was overseen by British designer Gareth Pugh, who ensured that each piece was authentic to Montana's original vision.
Comprising of key pieces such as the leather dress embroidered with an eagle from 1979, the collection embodies Pugh's newfound freedom.
'While the collection is an exact reissue of past Montana designs, this isn't an exercise in nostalgia. It is very important that the brand and the collection is honored in a very contemporary way,' Byronesque founder Gill Linton told Vogue.
The collection marks the first time in 20 years that landmark pieces from the iconic designer's previous collections have become available. Montana defined an era of high-impact fashion and revolutionized fashion in the 1980s with his clever combination of creativity, bold silhouettes, craftsmanship, and theatrics.
The collection is available now on Farfetch.com with prices ranging from $213 (for a t-shirt) to $4,032 (for an embroidered leather dress).
