Brand Of The Week: Skall Studio

Skall Studio is our 'Brand of the Week'.

The Danish clothing label was founded in 2013 by two sisters Julie and Marie Skall. The name Skall means seashell in Danish and goes back to their Great-Grandparents, who lived by the North Sea in the Northern part of Denmark.

Julie and Marie started the brand with the aim of creating a basic wardrobe with pieces for every occasion. A wardrobe that is not filled with items that are guided by short-term trends, but with timeless, accessible pieces that one can wear through the seasons. The essence of Skall Studio is creating high quality, beautiful, classic and artistic pieces with a story so that the garment can last across seasons from one collection to another.

The label is built on sustainability and its founders care about the resources that are used in the textile production and the people they work with. Durability and integrity are considered to be of paramount importance and the collections stand for simple, clean, classic, chic, functional and timelessness.

The brand uses natural (and many organic) materials, such as cotton, linen and recycled wool. All raw materials are produced and dyed according to the international standards of Oekotex, Reach and GOTS. This means that they have a minimal impact on the environment. Skall also guarantees that it does not use skins or fur from animals.
