Brand of the Week: Saks Potts

Each week, we take the time to highlight our favorite Fashion brands. Last week, we profiled Swedish fashion brand Lindex and this week we've decided to feature Saks Pots.

The Copenhagen-based womenswear brand was founded in 2013 by Danish duo Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts. The self-trained designers began the label with the idea of giving personality to overcoats through colors and exotic materials like fur and silk. Their clear intention was to design the perfect outerwear for the contemporary woman.

The label has quickly garnered a cult following that has led them to expand their offering to include bags and other clothing items as well. Their designs have been sported by Rihanna, Beyonce, and Gigi Hadid as well as Selena Gomez who wore its fluorescent glitter two-piece in mint green style in her 'Taki Taki' music video.

Saks Pots is also known for its flamboyant use of real animal fur and skins like lambskin and fox fur in a time when designers like Burberry and Chanel have banned fur for faux alternatives. However, according to the label they source fur from local fur farms in Denmark, which is renowned for its animal welfare being among the best in the world.
