Model of the Week: Greta Dumenil

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Danish beauty Laura Sorensen and this week we're turning our attention to Greta Dumenil. We caught with the German beauty to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
I always thought about becoming a model, but I wanted to finish school first and then maybe take a gap year and just try. Then I got scouted. If this did not happen, I would do something with marketing strategies, media, and communication.

 

How were you scouted?
I was scouted in a mall in Hamburg (Germany) when I visited the city with a friend.

 

How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Tall, organized, focused

 

Your first modeling job?
Harpers Bazaar Romania beauty story.

 

What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
It is amazing how many people you get to know and how many places you get to visit!

 

Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
I admire Emma Watson as a role model. She is an inspiring person who fought for her dreams and managed a lot of things besides her career as an actress.

 

What's been your biggest OMG moment to date?
OMG when I realized that I was printed on a tram that cruises through Hong Kong.

 

What is your dream shoot/campaign?
This would have been a shoot with Peter Lindbergh.

 

Biggest lesson that modelling has taught you?
Do not care too much about what people say.

 

What's the best life advice you've ever received?
To stay who you are and not to change for someone or something. At the end of the day, you are the person you have to get along with, so stay who you are.

 

How do you stay in shape?
I do track and field and in addition I go to the gym.

 

What do you think about fashion? What does it mean to you?
Fashion can be an expression of personality, feelings or a specific mood. It always says something about you as a person, which makes it very interesting.

 

If you had to be head to tow in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Armani

 

How would you describe your style?
A mixture of comfy, casual, and sporty.

 

Denim or leather?
Denim

 

Heels or flats?
Flats

 

Vintage or contemporary fashion?
A mixture of both.

 

What is your guilty pleasure?
I like to eat applesauce for almost every lunch when I am at home.

 

When you're not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
I am interested in photography and painting with watercolor, but of course, I like to meet my friends as often as possible.

 

What are you working on now and what do you dream of happening in the future?
I am working on my career as a model and I dream of walking shows for big designers.

 

Where do you see yourself in 10 years' time?
In 10 years, I will have a family and live in a big city where I will be working in the media business.
