Irina Shayk and Stella Maxwell design bags for The Kooples

Irina Shayk and Stella Maxwell have teamed up with The Kooples.

The Victoria's Secret models put their creative flair to use and stepped behind the sketch table to design a complementary duo of bags: the 'Stella' and the 'Irina', for the French label's latest collection.

After Emily Ratajkowski's well-loved 'Emily' bag, the brand approached Maxwell who expressed an interest in designing. Maxwell chose Shayk as her design partner who did not hesitate and took up the opportunity.

'The campaign is about friendship, love and celebrating life,' said Shayk in a statement. 'We fit together very well; our personalities are very different, so the designs would never be the same,' Maxwell told British Vogue.

The Stella bag is inspired by Maxwell's love for rock music, a style that is close to the label. The bag is made of soft leather, is studded with studs and comes in a vibrant pop of red.

On the other hand, the Irina bag is inspired by the life of a model that is often on the move and is a travel bag. It has been upgraded with metal details for a resolute touch of rock, studded quilting, and a metal clasp.

Both bags serve different purposes. The Irina bag is designed for the day while the Stella purse is perfect for the evening.

The bags will be available in three sizes in The Kooples' ready-to-wear collection from September 2018 in stores and The Kooples online boutique.
