Spanish Fashion retailer Zara has collaborated for a second time with Norwich-born, London-based fashion stylist Harry Lambert on a capsule inspired by the 70's and spirit of the circus.
Titled 'Cutie Circus,' the collection comprises of 70 pieces designed to bring an easy sense of joy and upliftment such as polka-dot shirts, tie sets, oversized tartan outerwear, retro zip-through Harrington jackets, T-shirts, barrel-leg trousers in charming pastel corduroy and denim, and cropped ringmaster blazers.
The color palette beautifully complements the theme of the collection with each piece being a celebration of joy inspired by the way places like a circus, a seaside coast or a rollercoaster-packed theme park.
Lambert brings his signature by calling upon references from the past into this collection for which he looked through countless photographs and souvenirs from dress-up masks to circus arenas to create pieces that imbues the spirit of Cutie Chaos (his first capsule with Zara) but in a whole new staging.
The collection features bespoke illustrations by London based Aysha Nagieva, inspired by Lambert's research and her own signature. 'It was such a fun, immediate process where every idea could be developed and expanded upon. It was so fun to show the illustrations and to eventually see where Harry and the ZARA team took them with the clothing. I worked primarily in water colors on paper when creating the illustrations, whereas in my usual practice I mainly work in oil paint. This was essential to replicate this 'vintage' circus feeling yet also to make all the visuals contemporary. It is such a big honor for me to contribute to the collection and for Harry to trust me with the execution of his brilliant ideas,' Nagieva said in a press release.
The Harry Lambert x Zara collection is available now on Zara.com and in selected stores. Check out the colorful campaign images here.
