Dutch design duo Viktor & Rolf has teamed up with the historic French lingerie house Aubade to create a capsule collection.
Titled 'Bow,' the capsule collection features cartoon-like bows, Viktor & Rolf's signature motifs, and the legendary craftsmanship of Aubade. Consisting of nine pieces (briefs and a range of different bras) it comes in two colors: the pink Bonbon set and the seductive Soir black set.
'In couture, you think in terms of meters. For this, we were forced to think in millimeters,' Viktor Horsting said at a press presentation on Wednesday. 'The challenge was really to scale down the design gesture.'
Minuscule lace bows, laser cut are embroidered on mesh bases that creates a motif that also appears on a black T-shirt that is part of the line. The bras come in three styles: Aubade's best selling half-cup, a plunging high apex bra and a triangle bra without wire with matching briefs. Two signature bows decorate the closure and all straps are double, with the backside looking like a corset. The sizes run up to 90G, with the sets priced at 169 euros.
The campaign was photographed in Amsterdam by Viviane Sassen, a friend of Viktor & Rolf. Aubade, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, will release the collection in June 2019.
