Japanese retailer Uniqlo and Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson have teamed up once again for a Spring/Summer collection.
The collaboration which marks its sixth year is a modern interpretation of quintessential British preppy style and traditional sports of British universities through JW Anderson's elegant and playful lens.
Entitled 'A Sporting Way of Life', it comprises of 20 styles (11 women's styles and 9 men's styles across Outerwear, Knitwear, Shirts, T-Shirts + Polo Shirts, Pants + Skirts, Dresses, Innerwear, Bottoms and Accessories).
Designed to be mixed and matched with a fit that is true to size, it references badminton, tennis, rugby and rowing and is a reworking of classic sportswear. Standout pieces from the collection include updated sports jackets with Uniqlo's most popular, high-performance fabric AirSense and a tennis dress, which has been reinterpreted and given a JW Anderson twist.
'For this season, we were really looking at heritage sportswear and how to translate it, reinterpret it, blending it more with modern sportswear and the technical materials such as that UNIQLO has incredible capabilities in. Ultimately, this season is reworking our idea of classic sportswear-for instance, a traditional cricket jumper alongside technical sports leggings or hand-drawn traditional British sporting team motifs on technical swim shorts and more traditional knitted polo shirts,' said Jonathan Anderson in a statement.
With a starting price of 6 euros, the JW Anderson x Uniqlo SS23 collection is available now exclusively at Uniqlo and in select stores.
