Tommy Hilfiger is launching his Adaptive collection in Europe.
The collection for people with disabilities and special needs puts a new twist on tradition, delivering modern style with innovative modifications that empower people and make dressing easier. Altogether it paves the way for a fresh start with a twist on tropical and is designed to make dressing easier.
For 15% of the world's population who live with some form of disability something as simple as getting dressed can be a challenge. Inspired by their experiences and Tommy's personal history, having children with autism, the creative team rethought the design process to uncover solutions that work.
'Having children with special needs, I experienced how much we need Tommy Adaptive,' said the designer on the brand's website. 'The added value comes from the discreet, smart adjustments that facilitate the dressing process and that both children and adults with disabilities have greater independence - and a good feeling.'
The collection comprises of a color block jacket, a zipped jacket or a plaid shirt for men, a polo dress or a striped shirt dress for women, as well as dresses, jackets, and shorts for children. Each piece is of the same quality, the same fabric, and the same basic design that the brand offers in its other collections. The adaptations are discreet, with really functional modifications that facilitate dressing and allow children and adults with disabilities to become independent and feel good about themselves.
First launched in the spring of 2016, the Adaptive collection is Hilfiger's third line aimed specifically for people with disabilities.
The Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive collection will be available on Tommy Hilfiger's e-shop from June 14.
