Talia Collins launches Eponymous eco-friendly Swimwear label

Talia Collins has launched her eponymous eco-friendly swimwear label.

The former Vogue Paris stylist combined her love of fashion with her concern for the marine environment, to design sustainable swimwear using fiber recycled from those abandoned fishing nets.

The collection includes timeless bikinis and one-pieces designed and cut to flatter and are sold as a pair on a mix and match basis. The bikinis come in three brief styles: Brazilian, Classic, and Tie-Me-Up while the tops come in Athletic, Strapless and Triangle style. All pieces are priced at 158 pounds and are available in a bountiful palette of shades (black, mocha, navy, orange, red, white). They can also be personalized with the wearer's initials.

According to Talia, her collection is aimed at women who care about their clothes, where they come from and their afterlife. 'Every brand today should think about how to be more conscious and responsible. I really wanted to raise the consumer's awareness to the fact that fashion today, is the world's second-largest polluting industry. We should be thinking about giving fabrics and industry by-products a new life, which is why my collection is aimed at women who care about their clothes, where they come from and their afterlife,' she explains on the ethos.

The swimwear also has a filter that provides sun protection of up to 50 SPF and is chlorine-resistant. It will have lasting durability and has been proven to be twice more resistant to abrasions, sunscreens and tanning oils than most swimwear fabrics.

In keeping with sustainability, Talia Collins offers recycling where customers can send back their swimwear once they have finished with it. The label donates 10% of their global profits to Healthy Seas an international non-governmental organization, that helps collect the discarded nylon fishing nets that harm sea and wildlife for regeneration into ECONYL yarn.
